{June 25, 2007}   Kids against strike

It affects us all. Directly or indirectly. The struggle for a better salary is for a good cause, but can it still be good when our basic human rights are in jepoardy?

It’s time something needs to be done. School-going children around the country are influenced. They can’t have an education because there are no teachers to educate them. I truelly understand why our teachers are on strike…both my parensts are teachers…but is it really necessary to beat children up, to tear up their June exam papers?

There is a guy in our town who watches the cars at the spar sentrum. His name is John. He is in his third year of matric. Will he have to be in matric for a fourth year again just becuase the government and educaters can’t come to an agreement??

Somewhere this thing has to stop. People, children are being hurt. We need to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves.

I’ll be posting more about this. Going to do some research. This is something that affects everyone living in South Africa. It’s going to take some serious thought.

Hey Anna, ja guess wahat, I finally got around to reading your (and my other pieties pelle) se blogs. Ek en jy het gechat oor die hele strike issue en dit wat jy daar gese het is helemal waar. ek weet huidiglik nie wat aangaan met die hele issue nie, want ek A kyk nie die nuus nie, en B maak nie ‘n punt daarvan om uit te vind nie. en hierdie comment van my might prove to be completely useless, which from where i’m standing, it is. ekt ma net gedink dit tyd dat ek moeite doen om by jou blog uit te kom. hier is die bewyse – Nadine Smit was hier!!!!!!
