{August 23, 2008}   Such A Beautiful thing…

Every Friday we have choir practice in the afternoon after school.

Last night on the way back, we stopped for pizza.  After settling down everyone together we started to enjoy our respective cheese filled pizzas.  But then something caught my eye, one of my fellow choir members (a boy) bowed his head and he prayed for his meal.

Never in my life have I quite witnessed something so beautiful.  So silent in his own world with God.  Most of the time, I think, we see prayer as an absolute necessity. If there is something I learned yesterday, it is that prayer is a most beautiful thing.

{August 11, 2008}   Pieces of us…

Don’t know when but I wrote this…it’s out of the archives and again I apologize for the Afrikaans

Ons hoort saam

Dis my land, jou land, ons land

die land van son

van vrede, vryheid, verdriet…

van lag baljaar en haat

Ons skone land, is so te sê,

godloos verlaat

Stoei om mag

ras teen ras

geslag teen geslag

waar is die genade?

waar is die gesag

van Afrika leiers, boeremagte?

Is dit lig of donker?

Dag gaan om in nag,

nag verander in dag.

Albei ewe nodig, ewe belangrik

Daar heers oorlog om vryheid,

een wat reeds geveg en oorwin is.

Die kind is steeds nie dood nie…

Ook nie in Suid-Afrika nie

Dis my land, jou land, ons land

die land van son en kleur

diversiteit skep eenheid

‘n skoneryke geur

{August 11, 2008}   I am not alone…

Johann Weber and Adrie are related to my hometown and also to my school…they’re much older than I am but it still proves that we live in an extremely small world…

Adrie blogs in Afrikaans about extra-ordinary, ordinary and just plain fun stuff.  It’s good reading material

Johann Weber’s topics covers more politics but it’s also a very interesting read…

Ironically…both these people got two different subjects from the same person….amazing isn’t it

Go on…take a peek ;)

{August 10, 2008}   Vir Mamma

This is a poem I wrote before my mom went for laser therapy.  Excuse the Afrikaans.

vergeet my nooit…

ek het jou nodig

nou meer as ooit

asseblief…

vergeet my nooit

moenie my alleen los nie

hou my altyd naby

dis moeilik om sterk te wees

as jy so swak is

dis moeilik om ‘n straight face te hê

as jy soos ‘n swak kind op die bed lê

dis hartverskeurend as jy begin huil

my hele wese sak in mekaar

ek’s so gewoont om jou altyd daar te hê

maar nou verloor ek jou

vir ses weke is jy ver weg van my

ses weke…

ses

kan jy nie bly nie

moet jy rerig gaan

noem net die prys

ek sal dit met ‘n smile betaal

ek het jou nodig

nou meer as ooit

liewe Mamma

vergeet my nooit…

{August 10, 2008}   Awesomeness

I dedicate this song tom my brother and his girlfriend (my one and only sister :D )

They have been together for a year and 4 months today!!!  I mean wow.

Congrats you guys.  You have been a real example for me and you’ve shown what true love really is.  To live with one another despite the others bad assets.

I give you Shania Twain’s From this moment on…

{August 9, 2008}   Love love love…*sigh*

Love is such a wonderful thing…being in love is such a good feeling…

Yes!!!

Finally my heart jumps up and down…

Guess I fell in love

LOVE GETS ME EVERYTIME

Life was goin’ great
Love was gonna have to wait
Was in no hurry-had no worries
Stayin’ single was the plan
Didn’t need a steady man
I had it covered-’til I discovered

That love gets me every time
My heart changed my mind
I gol’ darn gone and done it

Gone and done it (gone and done it)
Guess I fell in love (gone and done it)
Must’ve been the way he walked (gone and done it)
Or his sweet, sweet talk (gone and done it)
I guess I- – - gol’ darn gone and done it

I was quite content
Just a-payin’ my own rent
It was my place-I needed my space
I was free to shop around
In no rush to settle down
I had it covered-’til I discovered

That love gets me every time
My heart changed my mind
I gol’ darn gone and done it

Gone and done it (gone and done it)
Guess I fell in love (gone and done it)
Must’ve been the way he walked (gone and done it)
Or his sweet, sweet talk (gone and done it)
I guess I- – - gol’ darn gone and done it

Love gets me every time
My heart changed my mind
I gol’ darn gone and done it

Gone and done it (gone and done it)
Guess I fell in love (gone and done it)
Must’ve been the way he walked (gone and done it)
Or his sweet, sweet talk (gone and done it)
It’s in the way he calls my name (gone and done it)
I know I’ll never be the same (gone and done it)

Love gets me every time
My heart changed my mind
I gol’ darn gone and done it

Thought I had it covered
Life was going great
Well I gol’ darn gone and done it

{August 7, 2008}   Biology…once again

Just recently we’ve started with the theory of evolution.  But the question really is, is it believable??

In some strange way I do think so:

Long ago the earth was one huge land mass call Pangaea.  This made me think of Genesis.  Of the part where earth was only one huge land mass and the God separated the earth form the waters…it kind of makes sense…Well that’s just my opinion.

But if you really think about evolution…if God allows plants to photosynthesise, He will certainly allow evolution?  Creatures adapting to their environment.

The Bible also states that the earth was created in 7 days.  We however don’t know with what timescale was worked with when Genesis was written.  It leaves much to think about in both evolutionary and Biblical.

Maybe there really was evolution…the only thing that doesn’t fit, is that Christians believe that God.  According to evolution, man developed (evolved) from primates…

How do we know for sure what’s right and what’s wrong….

What is your belief?

{August 4, 2008}   I promised I wouldn’t cry

Why can’t I let go?

Why do you still have the ability to make me cry…?

My heart is breaking again, I’m crying again….

I find myself thinking of you…again and again and again….

You’ve shattered me again…said you loved me…again…said you loved her and she loves you again…why can’t you love me?
