Just recently we’ve started with the theory of evolution. But the question really is, is it believable??
In some strange way I do think so:
Long ago the earth was one huge land mass call Pangaea. This made me think of Genesis. Of the part where earth was only one huge land mass and the God separated the earth form the waters…it kind of makes sense…Well that’s just my opinion.
But if you really think about evolution…if God allows plants to photosynthesise, He will certainly allow evolution? Creatures adapting to their environment.
The Bible also states that the earth was created in 7 days. We however don’t know with what timescale was worked with when Genesis was written. It leaves much to think about in both evolutionary and Biblical.
Maybe there really was evolution…the only thing that doesn’t fit, is that Christians believe that God. According to evolution, man developed (evolved) from primates…
How do we know for sure what’s right and what’s wrong….

Interesting topic. I agree with you. For me the fact that God could create the diversity on earth through the process of evolution makes Him even more awesome.
Although this is currently a hot topic in South Africa (especially with young people it would seem), the dust has settled quite some time ago in the “high levels” of the conversation, at the place where those on the forefront of science and theology meet. In this meeting place there is much less tension, and the understanding that we need to learn from each other…
Ek dink dis dalk beter om te vra: “wat is die antwoord”, in plaas van: “wat GLO jy is die antwoord”. Jy kan glo wat jy wil tot jy blou is, dit gaan nog steeds nie die feite verander nie (of die feite met jou ooreenstem of nie).
Ek glo nie in evolusie nie – ek weet dis daar. Dis ‘n proses en dis op hierdie oomblik besig om te gebeur. Godsdiens moes nooit in die eerste plek hier ingesleep word nie.
Dis bloot ‘n verwysing na ooreenstemmende faktore…ek dink…
Dis vir my interessant wat ander mense dink oor evolusie…ek glo self nie daarin nie…ongelukkig is dit deel van die salabus (verskoon spelling) maar daar’s nie veel wat mens daaraan kan doen nie…
Ek weet ek’s ‘n skepping van God punt…maar tog laat mens dit in gedagte oor…ons het ‘n groot gesprek hieroor in biologie gehad (uitsluitend die onderwyser). Elkeen het maar sy eie mening

Dink ‘n bietjie hieroor. Die Bybel verwys nie na die metodes wat God gebruik het om te skep nie. Gen 1 is die mens laaste geskep. Gen 3 is die mens voor plante geskep.
God het die aarde geskep. Die hoe is nie bekend nie, dit kon net sowel deur evolusie gewees het.
